Na’eem Offord, a five-star cornerback from Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama, made headlines on December 4, 2024, by flipping his commitment from Ohio State to the University of Oregon during National Signing Day.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 185 pounds, Offord is ranked as the No. 12 overall player and the No. 2 cornerback in the Class of 2025.
His decision to join the Ducks bolsters Oregon’s defensive lineup, as he joins fellow five-star cornerbacks Brandon Finney and Trey McNutt, contributing to a recruiting class now ranked fourth nationally.
Offord’s commitment to Oregon was influenced by the university’s unique relationship with Nike co-founder Phil Knight, who reportedly offered to help Offord create his own signature shoe, a significant factor in his decision-making process.
This strategic acquisition reflects Oregon’s growing prominence in national recruiting under coach Dan Lanning, positioning the Ducks as a formidable contender in the upcoming college football season.
