The Colorado Buffaloes appear to have walked away from the fight under Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders. After a jaw-dropping 53-7 loss at Utah Utes, Sanders claimed his players simply quit on him and he refused to sugarcoat the meltdown. He labelled the defeat “probably the worst beating I’ve ever had … except when my mama whooped me as a kid.”
In the game, the Buffaloes managed only 140 total yards, while Utah ripped off 422 rushing yards and piled up 587 yards of total offense.
Colorado compiled a staggering -18 yards of offense in the first half.
Sanders said: “We didn’t do our jobs, we didn’t prepare our kids profoundly.”
He also admitted: “It was one-on-one with me and [Kyle] Whittingham, and he won by a significant margin.”
With the program’s credibility on the line and fringe bowl eligibility looming, the narrative now is not just about a bad loss — it’s about a team that may have quit.
